Saturday, September 12, 2026, was an activity-filled day for Rotary Club of Ota as the club, under the leadership of Impact President, Rtn Fatai Adewale, welcomed the District Governor, Rtn Bukola Bakare, and her team on her official visit.

But it wasn’t just a ceremonial visit. The club turned the occasion into an opportunity to create lasting impact across different areas of the community.
From healthcare to economic empowerment, child welfare and education, Rotary Club of Ota made the day count.

Supporting Healthcare:
The club presented a cheque of ₦800,000 to Mr. Oladimeji Emmanuel to support his surgery.
Empowering Lives:
As part of its annual economic empowerment initiative, the club awarded ₦500,000 in microcredit grants to 10 indigent beneficiaries, with each recipient receiving ₦50,000 to support their livelihoods.

Caring for Children:
The District Governor and her team were led to Ijamido Children’s Home, a home for vulnerable children, where food items were donated to the home. This annual gesture holds special significance, as the children’s home was originally built by Rotary Club of Ota many years ago.
Investing in Education:
At the palace of the Olota of Ota, His Royal Majesty, Oba Professor Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege (Lanlege Ekun II), the club donated brand-new school bags to students from five schools in the community:
• Iganmode Grammar School
• St. Michael High School
• Anglican Grammar School
• Sango High School
• Ansar’ud-deen Comprehensive College

Among the Rotarians present to receive the District Governor and her team were Past District Governor, Dr. Oluwole Kukoyi, and his spouse, Rtn. Rev. (Mrs.) Olusola Kukoyi, alongside the Doyen of the club, Rtn. (Dr.) Leke Ibrahim.
Five new Rotarians were also inducted into the club by the District Governor.

One visit. Multiple interventions. Countless lives touched.
