On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, Rotary International District 9111 turned the celebration of the 49th Isanbi Day in Ilishan Remo, Ogun State, into a moment of hope and opportunity for members of the community.

Through its economic intervention initiative, under the leadership of the District Governor, Rtn. Bukola Bakare, more than 50 indigent men and women received livelihood-support tools to help them build sustainable sources of income.
Some received sewing machines.
Some received makeup kits.
Others received stoning machines and baking machines.
Different tools. Different dreams. One shared opportunity, a chance to build a better future.

The empowerment was held during the weeklong 49th Isanbi Day celebration, an annual event in Ilishan Remo.
Chairman of the Local Organising Committee for the 49th Isanbi Day 2026, Mr. Tunji Amokade, commended Rotary District 9111 for its significant contribution to the development of Ilishan Remo, Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
Also witnessing the exercise, Hon. Lekan Ifede, Chairman of the Ogun State Basic Education and Literacy Board, acknowledged Rotary’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian service and its efforts to provide succour to less privileged members of communities.

For these beneficiaries, the real value of what they received goes far beyond the machines and kits.
It is the possibility of a thriving business.
The hope of providing for their families.
The dignity that comes with earning a living.
And the confidence to say, “I can do this.”
Because sometimes, changing a life doesn’t begin with millions.

Sometimes, it begins with one machine, one opportunity, and someone willing to care.
This is what it means to Create Lasting Impact.
