It was a deeply emotional moment during the official visit of the District Governor, Rtn. Bukola Bakare, to the Rotary Club of Okota on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
Under the leadership of the Club President, Rtn. Sogunle Ibrahim, the club donated three brand-new sewing machines to three indigent youths in the community, giving them the tools to build sustainable livelihoods. But for one beneficiary, Seun Okeowo, the moment was simply overwhelming.
As the sewing machine was presented to him by the District Governor, Seun could not hold back his tears. With tears streaming down his face, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude, revealing that he never imagined a day like this would come.
Touched by his emotional reaction and tears of joy, the District Governor congratulated all three beneficiaries and went a step further, announcing an additional donation of a stoning machine to Seun to further support and strengthen his trade.
Sometimes, a single act of kindness can restore hope, inspire a dream and change the course of a life. This is Rotary. This is Service Above Self.
